Marathon County Jail Roster Overview
The official current inmate records channel is the Marathon County Sheriff's Office P2C Inmates Catalog. The county jail page links to it as the jail inmate roster. It is a free public roster, and no login was observed during the research pass. It covers the adult jail and related jail-supervised statuses, including records that may show Marathon County Jail, Home Monitor, or another holding facility label.
The roster is a current custody tool. It is useful for finding a person after arrest, checking bond and court-date fields, confirming whether the record says Marathon County Jail or Home Monitor, and seeing public profile details. It is not a complete historical archive. Once someone is released, transferred, sentenced to the Wisconsin Department of Corrections, or moved into federal or immigration custody, the live roster may no longer be the main source.
The roster screenshot captured from the official P2C inmate roster shows the public search interface, filters, and expandable result format.
Use the screenshot as a visual cue for the search layout, but rely on the live P2C page for current custody information.
Use the Marathon County Inmate Roster
A good search starts broad. Last name alone is often better than a full name, because spelling, middle names, suffixes, and data-entry differences can hide a record. The Advanced panel is most useful after the broad search returns too many results or when the person may be on Home Monitor or held under a specific facility label.
- Open the official Marathon County P2C Inmates Catalog.
- Search by last name first. Add first name or middle name only if needed.
- Use Advanced filters for age, charge, arrest date, race, sex, or holding facility.
- Clear filters and retry if no record appears, especially after a recent booking.
- Expand the inmate card to review charges, bond, court date, booking agency, and holding facility.
- Call Jail/Corrections at 715-261-1700 if bond, release, or current location needs live confirmation.
Marathon County Roster Search Fields
The official search-criteria API shows multiple optional fields. This is useful because the roster can be searched even when only part of the identity is known. It also means a no-result search may reflect an overly narrow filter rather than a true absence from custody.

Marathon County Inmate Profile Fields
The public profile settings show a careful split between visible custody data and hidden personal data. The roster can show a booking photo, age, race, sex, height, weight, arrest date, court date, release or expected release date, booking agency, holding facility, primary charge, charge table, and bond details. It hides date of birth, home address, arresting agency, scars, marks, tattoos, traits, property, and arrest notes.
| Field | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Name | Last, first, middle, and suffix when available |
| Booking image | Image display is enabled through P2C ShowImages settings |
| Physical descriptors | Age, race, sex, height, and weight |

| Booking agency | The agency connected to the booking entry |
| Holding facility | Marathon County Jail, Home Monitor, or other listed location |
| Charges | Charge code, description, docket number, status, bond type, bond status, and bond amount |

Find Marathon County, DOC, and Federal Inmates
The same person can move through several systems. A new arrest usually begins on the county jail side. Formal criminal charges are checked through the court system. A prison sentence moves the durable custody lookup to the Wisconsin DOC locator. Federal sentenced custody is separate through BOP, and immigration detention is searched through ICE ODLS. Wisconsin VINE can help with custody notifications when available.
| Situation | Where to look | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Current adult county jail custody | Marathon County P2C roster | Official current adult jail and jail-supervised roster |
| Sentenced Wisconsin prison or supervision | Wisconsin DOC Offender Locator | DOC covers convicted offenders sentenced to incarceration, supervision, or both |
| Custody alerts | Wisconsin VINE | Notification and status lookup path |
| Federal sentenced or former inmate | BOP inmate locator | Federal prison system, not county jail |
| Immigration detainee | ICE ODLS | Immigration custody lookup, not a mugshot gallery |
The manifest includes a capture from the Wisconsin VINE custody notification portal, another documented access channel for custody status.
VINE is most useful when the question is notification or status change, while the P2C roster remains the local current roster source.
Marathon County Jail Facilities
The adult jail and juvenile detention facility share a corrections context but serve different legal populations. The adult jail is the inmate-records and public roster facility. The juvenile facility is secure placement for youth and is not an adult public inmate-search tool.

Booking Process in Marathon County
Marathon County does not publish a full public booking manual, but the verified local facts are enough to explain the path. A person may be arrested by the sheriff's office, Wausau police, a municipal police department, Wisconsin State Patrol, or another agency connected to the county. Jail staff create the intake record, collect property, conduct security and health screening under Wisconsin jail standards, take a booking image, classify custody status, and publish eligible public fields to the P2C roster.
Wisconsin's initial-appearance process then begins the court side. A P2C charge status such as Awaiting Initial Appearance means the jail record is early and may not match the formal court case yet. Once the prosecutor files charges, the court case is checked through WCCA and the Clerk of Courts rather than the jail roster. For that pathway, use court records after a jail arrest.
Marathon County Visitation Hours
Family and friend onsite visits are scheduled through Cidnet. The county allows two onsite visits per inmate per week beginning Sunday, and visits must be scheduled 24 hours in advance. Only scheduled and approved visitors may attend. No more than three approved visitors may be present per visit. Visitors under 18 must be with a parent or guardian who remains with them.

Contact and Records Requests
For live jail questions, call Jail/Corrections at 715-261-1700. For older booking records, jail incident reports, police reports, or a booking photo that is no longer visible online, use the Marathon County NextRequest public-records form. The public request form includes a case-number field if known, but the research did not show it as mandatory.
The county public-records request form was captured from Marathon County NextRequest.
Use a precise request. Name the person, approximate booking date, case number if known, and the exact record type requested.
Marathon County Money and Bond
Bond can be paid at the Marathon County Jail 24 hours per day by cash or credit card. Online JailATM bond requires calling the jail first so an officer can set up the bond in the JailATM system. Inmate account money is different from bond. Deposits can be made at the jail lobby kiosk, by mail, or online through JailATM, and the county states that jail debts may be collected at 50 percent or 100 percent from deposits depending on the debt.
| Channel | Use | Important detail |
|---|---|---|
| Jail counter | Bond | Available 24 hours per day; cash and credit card accepted |
| JailATM | Online deposits and bond | Online bond requires jail staff setup first |
| Lobby kiosk | Inmate account | County says cash and credit cards are accepted at the jail |
| Inmate account | Confirm current mailing rules before sending funds |
Note: Confirm custody, holds, and bond status with Jail/Corrections before sending money or traveling to post bond.
